The doctoral researchers of the Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) in the CRC 877 invite you to attend the IRTG Summer School entitled ‘Degradomics – Protease Web in Health and Disease’ on Sep 16–20, 2019 in Kiel at the Baltic Sea (Germany).

The functions of proteases are essential in many physiological and pathophysiologic events such as inflammation, cancer, and infectious diseases. A profound understanding of proteolytic processes in cellular regulation and signaling and its involvement in human pathophysiology is the general aim of the Collaborative Research Centre 877.
The Protease Degradome is a synonym for highly regulated molecular networks comprising enzymes, substrates, inhibitors, and other regulatory proteins. Latest high-throughput methods provided huge data sets, revealing an amazing complexity of proteolytic systems important for health and disease.

This summer school aims to provide information on various proteomic approaches that help to investigate specific protease function at a glance.

The Summer School is organized by the doctoral researchers of the Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) of the CRC877 and has a special focus on young scientists. Travel stipends for young scientist funded by Joachim Herz Stiftung will be offered. Numerous slots for oral and poster presentations of young researchers will be provided.

Internationally renowned speakers from different scientific fields will give lectures, present their work and open up platforms for discussion and exchange. In addition to daily social evenings, we will have conference dinner on the dike at the Kieler Förde, which offers many opportunities for networking and forming alliances.

Topics of the Symposium:

Degradomics Method Development
Degardomics and ECM Homeostasis
Degradomics and Neurodegeneration
Degradomics in Pathology
The Summer School is organized by the doctoral researchers from the University of Kiel, the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, the University of Magdeburg, the University of Mainz & the TU Dresden.
